Luigi Pecci Contemporary Art Center in Prato
The Luigi Pecci Center for Contemporary Art in Prato is an institution dedicated to the exhibition, collection and promotion of the most advanced artistic research. Founded in 1988, it was the first center in Italy built from scratch for contemporary art.
The permanent collection of the Pecci Center includes over a thousand works that trace artistic trends from the 1960s to the present, including painting, sculpture, cinema, video, installations, works on paper, artist’s books, photographs and graphics. Artists represented include such notable names as Anish Kapoor, Jan Fabre, Jannis Kounellis, Sol LeWitt, Mario Merz and Michelangelo Pistoletto.
